I’m Demetry Malahoff. I’m an audio engineer from Brisbane, Australia. I value integrity and humanity in music above all else. I’d record everything to tape if I had the money for it.
I learnt how to record and mix music from Magoo, Yanto Browning, Dan James, amongst others in a formal learning environment which eventually gave me a degree. A few people inspired me to continue past that step which has led me to record and mix the music you can find below. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some personal hero’s of mine including François Tétaz (Gotye, Wolf Creek), Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk, Sigur Rós, Múm, The County), and Dustin O’Halloran (A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Marie Antoinette). I was able to work for Valgeir Sigurðsson in the last quarter of 2019 at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavík. This had a profound impact on how I approach production.
Currently I make records for bands in a sustainable studio in the Samford Valley. I have a small collection of microphones, synths, and acoustic instruments from a beautiful upright Beale to a melodica. If you love to make music, and like to make it with other people, call me and we’ll have a coffee and talk.
